Steve Slater

Chairman

Steve Slater known to many as Slats. Have the privilege to be the current chairman of the Association.

I feel the club and Association as such a great opportunity to work together to grow our fan base, raise funds for all aspects of our club, create a welcoming and safe environment for all vistors to the Jackmans Community Stadium.

Been a fan since i was 10 years old, but lost that connection through work and playing local football. I have fallen back in love with the club over the last 5 years and want to give back to the club now i have  some spare time.

We must be united for our club.

Lived in and around Boston for many years and now retired from the NHS working for 30 plus years at Pilgrim Hospital as medical secretary and operational manager. I now have time to devote my energies supporting the Committee with any admin required and organising fundraising events. I am a season ticket holder and enjoy attending as many home and away games as possible. My son was a youth team player in the Steve Evans’ era and my husband now plays for the Boston United Walking Football over 60’s team so I am well trained in the ups and downs of being a supporter

One of my fondest childhood memories was standing on a crate, with my dad and a cup of oxo at London Road watching Peterborough United. We became Boston United season ticket holders and bring our three young children who love the experience. We decided to take them away on their first trip,  a daunting experience for any parent with young children, however  going on the coach with BUSA, we couldn't have felt more welcomed.I knew then that I wanted to become a part of BUSA, to bring more families to the club and to support our team. My Husband and I run First Stop Windscreens and decided to become more involved as an investment back into the community for hopefully our children and the future young pilgrims.

I retired in 2021 after working throughout the UK as an Operations Manager specialising in logistics and supply chain management.

First BUFC match attended was in  1966, FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round vs Grantham, admittedly as a Grantham supporter. Moved to Boston in 1982 and started half heartedly following United. I met my prospective father in law in 1983 who suggested, strongly, that if he was to become a permanent father in law I should accompany him to York Street on a regular basis. I've never looked back.

My current goal is to attempt to repay some of the enjoyment the club has given me by volunteering to help out in my spare time whenever possible in a variety of roles as required.

Away Travel Co-ordinator

I have been on the committee since its onset and have followed United for a couple of years longer, and haven’t missed too many games home or away. I am mainly involved with the away travel side of things and have lots of memories over the years. I enjoy meeting all the different people who travel with us. I also enjoy helping out at the other events we hold to raise money for the club.

Junior Pilgrim Manager

Born and raised in Boston with my dad taking me to my very first Boston game at the age of 8 at York Street, I fell in love with the atmosphere of watching the football and supporting my home town club. Over the years I’ve followed Boston United dipping in and out of attending games while I went to university and started teaching. In 2024 I pledged to attend as many games as I could both home and away. On the coach I listened to many conversations and spoke to committee members about how much work they do for the club and plans to help the club in the future and felt very inspired by this. When my dad (a fellow committee member!) told me about a vacancy to join, I couldn’t help but apply and become a part of the BUSA committee! I've been a member for two years now and have taken on the role of Junior Pilgrims Champion-helping to raise the profile of the next generation of supporters of Boston United!

I’ve been a passionate Pilgrim for years and a season ticket holder at the Jakemans Community Stadium since it opened in 2021.

Our incredible promotion-winning season, where I travelled to more away games than ever, made me feel even more connected to the club. So joining BUSA at the start of the 2024/25 season was a natural step, and I’m now excited to play an even bigger part on the committee.

I’m thrilled to be part of the team and committed to helping BUSA engage more supporters, promote our activities, and contribute to the ongoing success of both the association and BUFC.

I've lived in Boston all my life and the football club has been a part of my life for well over 50 years.

.I'm lucky enough to go to nearly all the games home and away. So when I was asked to join busa I jumped at the chance and have been on the committee for nearly 5 years now.

I want to make a difference and promote the club we all love the best way I know, and hopefully do my bit taking the club forward.

Im Julian Robinson ive supported  Boston United for many years.my first matches were in the early 70s attending with my late parents. Dad used to sponsor occasional match balls but in those days it was a mention in program   not the experience it now is.

When dad passed id attend matches more regularly with school friends and have had a season ticket for over 40 years.

My wife and daughter also attend matches  (daughter not so much now as studying  GCSEs.

I attend all home matches and away games as much as life and finances allow.

The reason I wanted to become a member of the BUSA committee is that I wanted to help be a voice for the fans as well as

raise money for the club and help make match day experience better for the fans.

I m always available for a chat all things BUFC and at work in Tesco (but dont tell the  bosses)

I have been supporting Boston United for around 54 years of which 20 of them was as a player ....then a coach ...then nearly another 20 years as a director. I left Kitwood Boys at the age of 16 and worked in the print trade for the rest of my life ....with a job at Currys as a salesperson and as a draughtsman at the Anglian Water Authority in between. I started my own print business with my brother Glen Maddison in 1993 following redundancy ...and still after 33 years, happily working there. Looking back on my playing career with The Pilgrims, I always say that I achieved my ambition, and that was to play for Boston United. Some people will say that I was not very ambitious, but I have always been a realist ....I knew full well that I would never play for Manchester United, Liverpool or England ...but for me, Boston United was the next best thing! I went on to make 481 appearances and score 181 goals in that time. Supporters always ask what was my proudest moment, and expect me to mention Wembley in 1985, and whilst it was fantastic, the second leg of the semi-final at York Street was better! ...but seeing a few of the 16 and 17 year old Academy lads break into the first team has to be up there! The reason I wanted to join the committee was to try and help raise funds for the club, of which I am proud to have done. I have always felt that every Boston United supporter should be a BUSA Member and with our membership prices this year being reduced to £2, £5 and £10 for Adults, now is the perfect time for us all to join up and be a part of OUR club.

I have supported Boston United since the early 90s, and have been involved as a ballboy, programme seller, golden goal seller, but most importantly a fan throughout. Having moved back to the area after being exiled for almost 20 years I wanted to help get back involved and make a positive contribution, and I believe BUSA is the best place to do that. I believe all supporters should enjoy their matchday experience despite the many differing needs and desires and want to help the club understand what its most important assets (the fans) want. We’ll be far more successful if we do it together!
